Lisa Woodard | Yoga Documentary
I first met Lisa after photographing a mutual friend, Sarah Hall. Lisa contacted me wanting me to do the same for her, and at this time I was already shifting into the documentary portion of my business, so I decided to take it a step further and interview her.
Guys, this woman is so fierce and also so soft. She instantly made me feel welcome in her studio (and even bought me coffee!!), and we hit it off with pleasant conversation while she prepared to begin her flow. We chose a spot in the gorgeous, sun-soaked room and she sat on her mat, took a deep breath, and dove in.
I like to consider myself a yogi (albeit an inflexible one), so I LOVE photographing this particular art form. I think I probably said, "That is so beautiful," like a hundred times, but it was true! So so true. And she wasn't afraid to laugh at herself if a pose went wrong (I even caught a couple of those laughs, which you can see below). I love that. I love when people can laugh at themselves. Life is too serious as it is.
I hope you enjoy this gallery! You can read the full documentary interview here, on my author site. And if you've never tried yoga before, please do! You won't regret it.
